Creative Assembly is seeking a Principal Animator to contribute to our highly successful, multi award-winning Total War series.
Key Responsibilities
- Animation Vision: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and set benchmarks for animation style and quality.
- Animation Expertise: Create high-quality keyframe and/or motion capture animations to enhance gameplay.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work across disciplines to develop new systems and ensure animations support gameplay mechanics.
- Pipeline & Tools: Help define and improve animation workflows, tools, and pipelines for better efficiency and quality.
- Outsourcing Management: Oversee outsourced animation processes, ensuring artistic quality and adherence to style and standards. Maintain communication and documentation with vendors, provide feedback, and coordinate with production to meet schedules.
- Mentorship: Provide creative and technical mentorship to the animation team, fostering growth and excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Thorough knowledge of animation pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong hand-key animation skills for both humans and creatures
- Excellent communication skills and experience in cross-discipline collaboration
- In-depth understanding of game development workflows and mechanics
- Motion Capture experience
- Interest in Total War Strategy Games
