Principal Category Manager - Infrastructure & Security

Location: London, Norwich or York based – 50% hybrid working. This role leads a team of procurement professionals focused on IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, shaping and delivering sourcing strategies to support Aviva’s technology and architecture goals. You will work closely with IT and business teams, manage supplier relationships, unlock commercial value, and contribute to the Procurement Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of procurement professionals focused on IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity.
  • Shape and deliver sourcing strategies aligned with Aviva’s technology and architecture goals.
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive commercial value through complex sourcing processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to support strategic initiatives and progress across the procurement function.
  • Represent procurement in leadership discussions and contribute to function-wide performance improvements.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience delivering Commercial or Category Management in a demanding, fast-evolving environment, preferably with IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex sourcing processes, leveraging internal and supplier relationships to achieve cost savings and value.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills for complex agreements.
  • CIPS qualification and prior exposure to SAP Ariba are desirable.

  • Salary around £80,000 (national) - £90,000 (London) depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
