Senior Civil Engineering Recruitment Consultant at RGB Network
Senior / Principal Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
An established, employee-owned, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their Nottingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior or Principal Engineer with strong experience in drainage and highway design to play a leading role within a growing infrastructure team.
The Company:
With a headcount of over 100 professionals across six UK offices, the firm is well-regarded for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across multiple disciplines. The Nottingham office is home to 12 staff, including a three-person infrastructure team made up of an Associate, a principal, and a mid-level engineer. The firm is now looking for someone to help manage day-to-day design activities and support the continued growth of the team.
The Role:
You will be working on a diverse range of residential infrastructure projects, typically ranging in size from 100 to 1,000 units. The workload will be evenly split between drainage and highway design, covering both pre-planning and detailed design phases. You will be responsible for delivering technically sound solutions, supporting junior team members, and liaising with clients and approval bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage infrastructure design projects, particularly in the residential sector.
- Produce detailed drainage and highway designs (S104, S38, S278) in line with current regulations and best practice.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in civil infrastructure design with a strong technical grasp of current standards and regulations (e.g., SSG, Building Regs, DMRB, Ciria C753).
- Proficiency in MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow and AutoCAD is essential.
- Experience with Civil 3D or Site 3D is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects through planning and technical approval stages.
- Chartered or working towards chartership (e.g., ICE) is advantageous.
Benefits Package:
- Competitive salary reviewed annually each July.
- 37.5-hour working week with flexible start/finish times and hybrid working options(3/2).
- Paid overtime or time off in lieu for hours exceeding 37.5 per week.
- Annual discretionary bonuses (typically at Christmas and sometimes mid-year), with part of the bonus scheme tax-free through the company’s Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
- Company pension scheme via Scottish Widows: 5% employer contribution (on all earnings) and 3% employee contribution (minimum).
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Cycle-to-work scheme via salary sacrifice.
- Access to “You At Work” benefits portal: discounts on gyms, retail, insurance, and access to private GP services and financial advice.
- Interest-free season ticket loan for travel.
- Ongoing support for training and career development.
- 2–3 fully funded company social events per year.
