Need forward thinkers and those that want to get stuck in and make a positive impact from day 1.This is a meaningful role in a mission-led SaaS company with strong growth forecast for the next 12 months.The right .NET lead will work with household brands and solve real-world enterprise challenges; their biggest client is NatWest.This is 2 days onsite in Newcastle Tuesday/Wednesday for team collaboration and then rest WFH.The Principal Back-End Engineer will have strong C#/.NET experience and lead the development of service side platforms.The right person will be both a hands-on engineer and technical leader, mentors developers, and champion engineering excellence; helping scale up and maximise potential.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of robust back-end services and APIs using C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+Optimise system performance, security, and scalability for a growing customer baseCollaborate and advise on architectural decisions around microservices, data storage, and integrationsCollaborate closely with product and other stakeholders to shape technical strategy and roadmapLead by example and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and performanceMentor and support engineers of varying experience levels, sharing knowledge, fostering growth, and driving continuous improvementInfluence and drive company-wide engineering culture, processes, and technical strategyDrive continuous improvement across tooling, workflows, and development practicesContribute to architectural planning and long-term technical strategy as the subject matter expertQualifications7+ years in back-end development with C#/.NET and experience at scaleDeep understanding of software design patterns, systems architecture, and secure developmentExperience designing APIs with a strong focus on security and best practices in a SaaS or product-led environmentComfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud infrastructure; Azure experience is advantageousExperience working in agile environments with modern DevOps toolchainsStrong communication and leadership skills, with a coaching mindset and a commitment to team developmentStrong architectural thinking, cross functional collaboration skills and experience with scalable component-based systemsA strategic thinker who can balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability and maintainabilitySkills.NETAPIC#AzureEmployment detailsJob title: Principal EngineerLocation: Newcastle upon Tyne, UKJob type: PermanentSeniority level: Not ApplicableJob function: Engineering and ITIndustries: IT Services and IT ConsultingEmployee value propositionHybrid workingVery forward thinking and a great chance to work with different end clients #J-18808-Ljbffr
