Main purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business:

As a Principal Platform Architect (Principal) for Kainos, you’ll be accountable for leading the delivery of cloud platforms and solutions enabling business transformation which delight our customers and positively impact the lives of users worldwide. You will provide leadership as part of multi-disciplinary agile teams, building a shared understanding of outcomes, the technical landscape and complexity surrounding designs to help teams make informed decisions. You’ll foster relationships with senior stakeholders to establish architectural principles and the strategic direction of the platform, including understanding functional and non-functional needs. You will play a leading role in the Kainos Platforms Capability, driving technology direction and advancement, and guide others in the capability to support their career journeys. As a technical leader, you will collaborate to establish blueprints and standards, foster customer relationships, contribute to account strategies, and act as a technology ambassador for Kainos.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of platforms underpinning large-scale cloud transformation (e.g., migration to cloud environments, modernization of applications harnessing cloud, deployment of web-based applications).
• Lead and make technology decisions that drive positive customer outcomes.
• Build and foster relationships with stakeholders at executive and C-level to translate technology information for effective decision making.
• Work with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
• Develop and coach team members, supporting their career journeys while being supported in return.

Minimum (essential) Requirements

• Proven experience delivering platforms underpinning large-scale cloud transformation (migration to cloud, modernization, deployment of web-based applications).
• Experience leading technology decisions and delivery that achieves positive customer outcomes.
• Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders, translating technical information for decision making.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
• Demonstrated ability in managing, coaching and developing team members and wider community.

Desirable

• Proactively developed business across an account with sales and account managers.
• Experience managing others, setting objectives, giving feedback and leading performance reviews.
• Actively sharing thoughts on technology and helping to bring challenging projects back on track.
• Experience in creating and promoting new products or services to meet organisational strategy.
• Participation in technology communities.
