Signal Processing Systems Engineer Location: Southampton (primarily onsite) Contract: 6 months Rate: £58.67/hour PAYE (£67.20/hour incl. holiday) or £80/hour Umbrella We seek an engineer who has worked in a military / defence environment / industry within the last 12 months Role Overview The engineer will support the development of advanced communications systems across multiple disciplines, including RF integration, digital signal processing, free-space optical communications, waveforms, and network engineering. The role involves delivering defined work packages and contributing to system-level design, analysis, and modelling activities. Key Responsibilities Manage and interpret system requirements. Conduct feasibility studies and contribute to communication system architecture design. Model and simulate communication waveforms and networks (e.g., in MATLAB). Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports. Provide progress updates to the Project Engineering Lead. Collaborate with waveform engineering teams across airborne communication programmes. Manage personal workload and contribute positively to team delivery.
