We're working on a confidential search for a seasoned Procurement Manager to join a well-established UK manufacturing site that's part of a larger global organisation. This is a critical leadership opportunity within a dynamic supply chain structure, managing a sizable and capable team of 15-20 professionals including buyers, supplier development specialists, and quality engineers.

• You'll report into the Head of Supply Chain (who oversees a large, multi-functional team of 500+ on site)
• Backed by strong executive sponsorship, this role is seen as central to the company's evolution into more strategic global sourcing

What you'll be doing:

• Lead operational purchasing activity across direct and indirect categories - with a heavier emphasis on direct (forgings, castings, semi-finished products from China and India)
• Work closely with supplier development, engineering, and quality teams
• Focus on cost-down initiatives, supplier performance, and continuous improvement
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development for a capable team already in place
• Drive accountability, performance, and alignment with wider global strategy

What we're looking for:

• Proven leadership experience managing purchasing teams in an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of component buying, ideally with exposure to global supply chains
• Experience with both direct and indirect procurement
• A pragmatic, hands-on leader with strong interpersonal and change management skills
• Engineering background is a plus
