Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in public sector procurement, including tendering, facilitating procurement projects, and developing procurement forward plans. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to lead procurement meetings, influence plans, prioritize work, and work independently using e-Tendering systems are essential.

The candidate will advocate for improvements in procurement documentation, policies, and practices to achieve best practice and compliance.

Managing and mentoring a small team of procurement professionals to develop their skills and performance will be a key aspect, offering an opportunity to enhance your management and leadership skills.

• In-depth knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023, Provider Selection Regime 2024, and their application in the public sector, supported by experience and theory.
• Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and motivate teams throughout procurement programs.
• Knowledge of project management and forward planning, underpinned by practical experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
• Analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge of eProcurement systems and national procurement strategies.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications
