We're on the hunt for a Procurement Manager to take the lead and infuse strategic brilliance into our procurement team, specialising in Uniforms and associated items. In this vibrant role, you'll be the catalyst for transformational change, steering us toward our strategic objectives while cultivating a nimble, customer-centric procurement powerhouse.
As a key player in shaping category strategies, you'll unlock unparalleled value for our customers, ensuring that every dollar spent resonates with quality and efficiency. Your expertise will drive a culture of continuous improvement, refining our Strategic Sourcing methodologies to keep us ahead of the curve.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
- Spearhead the procurement strategy for a high value annual contract, ensuring compliance and excellence in sourcing.
- Develop, own and deploy the Procurement Strategy for the account (S) under his/her responsibility, keeping up to date with market conditions and ensuring customers and colleagues are aware of them and their implications on to the business.
- Ensure that DHL demonstrates innovation and generates opportunities to supply innovative value for money products into policing
- Overall ownership for the contract negotiation with suppliers, ensuring 100% compliance on contracts signed prior to start up and/or in line with customers' contractual agreement.
- Build a strong working relationship with industry suppliers to support the success of the supply chain. Understand their business strengths, weaknesses, capabilities and future opportunities
- Lead the procurement & design and technical teams to ensure high-quality products meet PPE regulations.
- Build strong customer facing relationships with excellence at the forefront
- Lead a team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
- Develop uniform provider base broadening supplier options
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Proven leadership experience in direct procurement, particularly in complex environments is essential
- Garment, Material, Textiles and/or PPE background is preferred
- Strong customer-facing skills, with a knack for effective communication and problem-solving
- Preferably experience and knowledge within public sector organisations
- CIPS qualification required; MCIPS preferred.
