As Product Director, AI, you will be a thought leader, staying abreast of the latest in machine learning and generative AI, and translating these into innovative product opportunities. With a strong understanding of customer needs, market trends, and the evolving AI landscape, you will develop and deliver groundbreaking AI-driven products. You will lead our advanced GenAI teams and embed AI-driven thinking across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Vision & Strategy: Define and drive a bold, forward-thinking AI product vision aligned with company objectives.
- Product Roadmap Management: Own and execute the AI product roadmap, balancing innovation and timely delivery.
- AI Innovation & Experimentation: Stay ahead of emerging technologies like model fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, and multimodal AI, translating them into product opportunities.
- Model Training & Deployment: Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to train, experiment with, and deploy AI models, including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and fine-tuned models.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct research on AI advancements, competitive trends, and user behavior to identify differentiation opportunities.
- Requirements Definition: Work with engineering, data science, and design teams to define scalable, user-centric AI product requirements.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and inspire teams across departments to ensure seamless collaboration and execution.
- Partnerships & Ecosystem: Engage with strategy and M&A teams on AI partnerships, ensuring Skyscanner remains at the AI innovation forefront.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use real-time data, A/B testing, and AI metrics to refine models and optimize features.
- Customer Advocacy & Ethical AI: Ensure AI experiences improve traveler journeys, emphasizing usability, trust, fairness, transparency, and ethical considerations.
What You Will Bring
- Deep AI Expertise: Passion for AI, familiarity with running models locally, fine-tuning open-source LLMs, and exploring new architectures.
- Technical Foundations: Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related; advanced degree preferred.
- Hands-On ML & GenAI Experience: Proven experience in model training, fine-tuning, deployment, and inference optimization, with team mentorship skills.
- Experience with RAG & Vector Search: Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and vector databases like FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate.
- Cloud AI Platforms: Experience with cloud services such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Databricks, Hugging Face.
- Data-Driven Product Thinking: Strong background in experimentation, analytics, and AI performance evaluation.
- Leadership & Agile Mindset: Proven ability to lead AI teams in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Governance & Ethical AI: Commitment to responsible AI development, fairness, bias mitigation, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-modal AI (text, images, video, speech).
- Proven success in scaling AI products for large user bases, familiarity with reinforcement learning and personalization models.
- Background in e-commerce or customer-centric digital products (travel, search, recommendations, fintech) is a plus.
