Role: Project Manager - Substations / Construction

Location: Derbyshire (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months

For a leading energy infrastructure company, we are seeking a Project Manager specializing in substation projects located in Derbyshire, specifically at the Drakelow Substation. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in substation development, design, and build, particularly those who understand high voltage systems. The position requires expertise in NEC construction and is suited for candidates with either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications or significant relevant career experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience in transmission construction project management.

What you will Do?

• Working on behalf of the delivery team, manage the development stages of a large substation extension at Drakelow substation

• Apply your previous experience of building or developing substations to:

• Provide technical/engineering leadership through the development stages

• Ensure buildability of the project design through 4.2/4.3 and,

• Ensure compliance with National Grid standards
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure project milestones are met efficiently
• Implement NEC construction experience during the development stage to maintain project timelines and budgets
• Liaise with operational stakeholders to ensure project objectives and proposed options meet their expectations and align with organizational goals

Your Skills

• Proven experience in substation development and construction
• Strong understanding of high voltage systems and their applications
• Expertise in NEC construction practices and project management
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications or equivalent career experience
• Previous experience in transmission construction project management is highly preferred
