Project Manager

New Yesterday

Stantec are seeking a driven and collaborative Project Manager to provide first-hand project management support and help us build a true centre of excellence across our UK offices. In this role, you’ll work closely with technical delivery leaders, commercial teams, and finance colleagues to ensure our projects are delivered with confidence, clarity, and success.

This is more than a coordination role - you’ll also have the opportunity to develop, mentor, and grow a talented cohort of Project Management Assistants (PMAs), helping them build the skills to support complex, technically challenging projects and progress their careers. Over time, you’ll take on more leadership responsibility, with opportunities to work towards Principal level and APM Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status.

We can offer this role as a hybrid position, and can be based from either our Bristol, Reading or London offices.

Your key responsibilities will include
  • Delivering project management expertise to supplement our technically focused Project Managers on complex projects.
  • Support Project Technical Leads (PTLs) in project performance tracking, risk identification, and corrective actions.
  • Support with building a UK-based PMA team—recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and supporting their professional growth.
  • Overseeing collaboration between UK PMAs and our offshore Project Control Specialists (PCS) team in Pune, India.
  • Providing governance and assurance by linking Project Management, Finance, Commercial, and Operations Support.
  • Championing knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement in project controls and delivery processes.

What You’ll Bring

Previous experience in project management support, ideally in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide early-career professionals.

Knowledge of project control systems (Oracle experience a plus).

Excellent stakeholder management across technical, commercial, and financial disciplines.

A proactive mindset for improving governance, assurance, and project predictability.
