Who We Are

We’re not just talking about making a difference, we’re making it happen. We generate dispatchable, renewable power and create stable energy in an uncertain world. Building on our proud heritage, we have ambition to become the global leader in sustainable biomass and carbon removals.

You’ll be joining our teams of practical doers, future thinkers and business champions. We’re enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future for all, and working hard to decarbonise the planet for generations to come.

About The Role

As a Project Manager within the Generation Business, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary/cross-functional projects to time, budget, and scope and in line with the new Delivery Framework.

You’ll be joining an established Team that provides Secretariat, Delivery and PMO Services in an operational environment which means that you will be involved in both change delivery and critical BAU activities.

You’ll have responsibility for the controlled delivery of multiple projects and small programmes. You’ll be an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable working independently with some levels of unambiguity and contributes to continuous improvement to ways of working.

You’ll promote positive collaboration and provide leadership, motivation, and general support to cross–functional project teams. This is a visible role with regular interaction with Senior Management, so timely, confident and relevant communication is essential, this includes constructive challenge and escalation when needed.

The portfolio is varied so you will need to be able to adapt to various Project-types and characteristics including (but not limited to); strategic, regulatory, commercial, business change, IT-enabled, technical, engineering, and operational change. Therefore, the Project Manager may need to adapt project management approaches and be happy in a generalist role.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be educated to degree level and hold a Professional qualification in Project / Programme Management e.g., APM PMQ, PRINCE2, MSP, and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. You’ll also have detailed knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, have confidently used standard artefacts such as a RAIDs and Project Management Plans, and be able to establish effective Governance and Project structures.

Ideally, you’ll have relevant industry experience (power / utilities / construction) and you’ll certainly have a proven ability to successfully deliver multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, on-time, on-schedule and within budget.

Communication and Collaboration are key to this role therefore, you’ll be confident with your ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging business stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
