What we are recruiting for:

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our regional Construction business as part of the DEOP team. DEOP (Defence Estate Optimisation Programme) is a multi-billion-pound government project to rationalize the Defence Estate across the UK. Bovis has been awarded five DEOP projects, with sites in Bicester, Gloucester, Stafford, Leicestershire, and Cirencester. This role is based in Gloucester.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support and lead in creating a supportive team environment focused on skills and well-being.
  2. Manage project delivery to meet deadlines, ensuring maximum outcomes for the client and Lendlease.
  3. Maintain high quality standards and proactively address quality issues.
  4. Review costs and control measures.
  5. Ensure safety compliance across staff and contractors, maintaining records and reports.
  6. Promote and recognize safe behaviors and practices.
  7. Review and update Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) plans and lessons learned.
  8. Ensure project sustainability objectives are met, complying with standards and regulations.
  9. Update and review Project Execution Plans.
  10. Oversee project reporting internally and externally.
  11. Lead and participate in project meetings.
  12. Build and maintain external relationships with clients and contractors to support development.

Experience & Background:

  1. CSCS card holder.
  2. Strong knowledge of the construction industry.
  3. Strategic thinker with vision.
  4. Ability to develop trust-based relationships.
  5. Understanding of construction program duration and sequencing.
  6. Experience with pre-construction planning and bid teams.
  7. Effective communication and leadership skills.
  8. Flexibility to adapt working methods to project needs.
  9. Ability to deliver work packages within commercial targets.
