Air Personnel are seeking a Project Manager to join their client in Bournemouth or Farnborough, with hybrid working arrangements available.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO) supporting various projects across the Group. This diverse role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects within the Aviation Industry, leading, coordinating, and delivering multiple challenging projects from initiation to business-as-usual transition. The role involves exposure to operations and innovation initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high standards.
The successful candidate will join an innovative team tackling complex challenges that influence business growth and success, while driving continuous improvement within the PMO. We seek a driven Project Manager capable of engaging confidently at senior levels across Strategic Business Units (SBUs), tailoring processes to meet each SBU's needs. Experience in bid development, commercial negotiations, and building long-term customer relationships is highly desirable.
Responsibilities of a Project Manager:
- Assist the PMO with project delivery and serve as the focal point for internal stakeholders during planning and initiation phases.
- Provide robust project governance aligned with internal processes and industry best practices.
- Develop, own, and implement project management plans, schedules, risk registers, and related tools.
- Complete internal and external reports on schedule, financial, and quality performance.
- Support bid development, providing input on cost, schedule, and risk.
- Assist account managers during the business-as-usual phase of contracts.
- Deliver briefings to senior leadership and assist in preparing presentations for the Board of Directors.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Essential:- Significant experience managing complex projects, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or technology sectors.
- Proven ability to operate within a matrix organization.
- Experience applying various methodologies, including waterfall and agile.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without performance impact.
- Experience in commercial and contract negotiations.
- Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, including senior managers and clients.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across boundaries.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Eligibility for security clearance at SC level.
- Knowledge of Risk Management (MoR) and/or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
- Formal project management qualifications like Prince2 or APM PMQ.
