The Gatsby Charitable Foundation is looking for a highly organised Project Officer to play a key role in projects to support teachers.
Location: Manchester (with some hybrid working)
Salary: £49,729 – £53,787 + pension and benefits
Applications close at 9 a.m. Tuesday 26th August.
Who we are
In 1967, David Sainsbury established the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and, over the years, has given Gatsby more than £1 billion to distribute to charitable causes in fields he is passionate about. Gatsby started a small team focused on education policy in England almost 40 years ago. The team’s priorities have typically mirrored and sought to address the policy challenges of the times, from addressing the uptake of engineering degrees in the 1980s to our commitment to the improvement of the nation’s technical education and career guidance systems today.
While priorities have changed and evolved, our approach has been consistent: we aim to be more than a funder. We act as an enabler for projects, working with partners in designing, developing, and, in some cases, delivering activities.
About the role
As Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Technical Education Networks (TEN) programme, supporting teachers and providers delivering T-Levels. You will report to the Head of FE Curriculum Support and be part of a small team that is delivering this exciting programme.
This is a role for someone with an interest in technical education who is highly organised and capable of coordinating multiple projects and deadlines. You will be a confident communicator, working closely with stakeholders to ensure national programmes deliver their intended outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the high-quality delivery of T-Levels and drive innovation in technical education across the country.
Who we are looking for
First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a strong interest in our areas of work, especially supporting improvement for technical education. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, a creative approach to problem-solving, and an interest in the evolving policy landscape. Strong communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to support external partnerships, commission research, and produce clear, tailored written materials. Experience in education and/or educational publishing would be valuable.
