About the role

We are looking for Project Supervisors and Senior Project Supervisors to join our Great Grid Upgrade project, based between Norwich and Tilbury. The project involves building a new 400-kilovolt electricity transmission connection approximately 180 kilometres long, from Norwich Main Substation via Bramford Substation to Tilbury Substation.
The role involves acting as Site Supervisor/Engineer's Representative on behalf of the client across one or more construction sites, ensuring that site-based construction activities are efficiently managed according to National Grid policies and procedures. You would be expected to be on-site 3-4 days per week in East Anglia.

About you
We look for experts in their field. Ideally, you will have:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Project management experience, including risk management for scope, time, cost, quality, safety, and security of supply
- Experience with contract management within fixed-price and target-cost contracts
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation and practices
- Understanding of CDM Regulations
- Experience in project site management, working to deadlines in a contracting environment
- Deep understanding of construction projects, preferably in the energy sector
- Problem-solving skills and ability to promote a positive safety culture
- Experience in project, contract, stakeholder management, and client representation
- Full driving license
- Recognized health and safety qualification

What you'll do
- Ensure Principal Contractor (PC) Compliance: Manage safety aspects under CDM regulations.
- Site Programme Oversight: Review and comment on delivery programmes.
- Site Safety and Coordination: Conduct safety walks and meetings, control site access, and maintain logs.
- Risk and Method Statement Review: Assess risk assessments and method statements.
- Progress Monitoring: Hold site progress meetings, monitor activities, and report risks or delays.
- Quality Assurance Support: Support quality monitoring across the project.
- Contractual Roles: Act as Employers' Supervisor under NEC contracts and Engineer’s Representative.
- Site Instructions and Documentation: Issue instructions, maintain drawing systems.
- Commissioning Support: Assist in reviewing commissioning programmes.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Be an industry expert in construction standards, especially in Overhead Lines, Substations, Cabling, or Tunnelling.
- Staff Development: Mentor team members.
Senior Project Supervisor
Manage a team of Project Supervisors across East Anglia, demonstrating leadership and seeking growth into management roles.
What you'll get
A salary between £47,000 - £65,000, plus bonuses, pension, and flexible benefits.
