Project Support Officer | Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

Thank you for considering joining our team. We are recruiting a Band 5 Project Support Officer on a fixed-term contract until end March 2026. This full-time role is part of a small, friendly team working on the Hertfordshire-wide Autism and ADHD Transformation Programme. The aim of this programme is to develop a needs-led Hertfordshire Model that provides timely, tailored, and appropriate diagnostic and support services to children and young people (CYP) suspected of being autistic and/or living with ADHD, and their families. The goal is to support CYP in achieving good health, well-being, and attainment as they grow into adulthood.
Proposed interview date: 05-Sept-2025
We seek an enthusiastic and proactive candidate to support this work. Ideally, you have some knowledge or experience of services for neurodivergent CYP in Hertfordshire, but most importantly, you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn. You will need to hit the ground running, as this is a complex programme working across many organisational boundaries. The role involves working closely with Programme and Project Managers to support various projects and provide excellent project support to the team. You should be comfortable working with clinicians, senior leaders, children and young people, and parents/carers across several organisations.
The postholder must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and possess strong multitasking skills. We welcome candidates who can bring creativity and ingenuity to contribute ideas, alongside excellent organisation and project support skills.
The responsibilities include supporting project monitoring, collating and presenting information on project delivery, and working closely with Programme and Project Managers to coordinate key meetings, including agenda planning, minute-taking, and action tracking. The post holder will develop, maintain, and monitor project plans and support the coordination of specific projects as delegated.
Thank you for considering joining us at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. We believe you will find it a great place to work, with many benefits offered. Our vision is to put patients, families, and carers at the centre — "Outstanding Services and Healthier Communities." Our staff pride themselves on being innovative, caring, and agile in their work to achieve this vision.
We value diversity in our workforce and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and ages. Please note that if there is high interest in this role, the vacancy may close before the advertised deadline, so we encourage you to apply promptly.
If you are interested or wish to discuss the role informally, please contact Alison Spalding, Programme Manager, at alison.spalding2@nhs.net.
This role requires travel to multiple sites, including Howard Court, Welwyn Garden City, and The Colonnades, Hatfield. Working from home is also an option if desired.
We look forward to your application and potentially welcoming you to our team.
