The Company

Their solutions include engineered products such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, modular skids, piping systems, and acoustic/filtration units, serving a wide range of applications across transitional and decarbonised energy sectors.

Operating globally with over 800 employees, the business has grown rapidly and continues to expand across the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Hydrogen, Waste-to-X, and Renewable Heating sectors. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking to strengthen their UK commercial team with a Key Account Manager.

This is a great opportunity to join a technically advanced, highly respected engineering business with significant growth ambitions and a collaborative culture.

The Role

If you're a commercially focused Design or Proposals Engineer or Account Manager with design experience seeking to join a progressive business in the transitional energy sector, this could be your next career move.

As a Proposals/Account Manager, you will support and grow key customer relationships across the UK & Europe. You will act as a technical-commercial liaison between clients and internal departments, liaising with the sales team, creating concept designs, detailed quotations, and supporting new business development.

This is a non-sales role but involves understanding client criteria, advising on adjustments, managing enquiries through to award, servicing existing clients, and identifying new opportunities within current accounts, especially in sectors like carbon capture, hydrogen generation, and power grid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  1. Managing customer accounts from initial enquiry to project handover.
  2. Interpreting technical specifications and developing costed proposals and concept sketches.
  3. Preparing concept design drawings and performing basic calculations.
  4. Producing quotations and commercial documentation for bids.
  5. Material selection based on requirements and environments.
  6. Attending customer meetings.
  7. Collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure solution accuracy.
  8. Performing detailed engineering calculations (structural, fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, mechanics).
  9. Supporting project management, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
  10. Providing technical support to internal and external customers.
  11. Maintaining forecasting and CRM activity for assigned accounts.
  12. Supporting Gas Turbine and New Build project enquiries.
  13. Contributing to cost-reduction and product improvement initiatives.
  14. Engaging in research and development activities.
