Overview

Fraser Health is embracing virtual methods to enhance patient care. This position provides entirely virtual clinical services as part of the Virtual Psychiatry Unit, delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care to adult patients across the Fraser Health Region. It offers a team-based, inter-professional care environment with care administered to acute patients directly in their homes and through virtual channels.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you will deliver top-tier care to adult patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include consulting at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit and actively engaging in outreach to patients’ residences. While the position is fully remote for clinical care (including virtual on-call), in-person attendance for occasional team meetings may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Consult at the Virtual Psychiatry Unit and participate in outreach to patients in their residences.
  • Provide fully remote clinical care (including virtual on-call) with in-person attendance for occasional team meetings.
  • Deliver services including assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, conducting family meetings, organizing case conferences, discharge planning, and educating psychiatry residents and medical students.
  • Foster continuity of care and advocate for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care across the Fraser Health Region.

Qualifications

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you should have the ability to deliver top-tier care to adult patients and participate in an inter-professional team within a virtual care environment. In-person attendance for team meetings may be required occasionally.

Location: Fraser Health Region, British Columbia, Canada. Fully remote clinical work with occasional on-site meetings.
