Public Health Staff Nurse 0 - 19 | Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
1 Days Old
Are you an enthusiastic nurse, either established or a newly qualified looking to grow your career in the Children and Young People sector? Our supportive West Dorset Locality team (covering areas Lyme, Bridport, Beaminster and Maiden Newton) would love to hear from you!
As a Public Health Staff Nurse 0 - 19, you will participate in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and will work in partnership with children, young people and families in environments such as family hubs, clinic settings, family’s homes and schools including early years settings. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and packages of care to people on an allocated caseload; promoting independence and autonomy; working within a multi-disciplinary team.
We offer career pathways and great opportunities for continuing professional development with a comprehensive and structured induction programme and training. We also offer an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.
The role is a part-time post of 22.5 or 30 hours per week Monday to Friday. We can be flexible with how these hours can be met such as working condensed hours or smaller hours covering five days. This can be discussed further at interview stage. This role offers hybrid working with remote home working and covering the locality of Weymouth and Portland.
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
You will be required to work closely with other members of the CYP Public Health Service 0 – 19, to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and supporting children and young people and their families, using evidence-based, early intervention strategies.
You will be proactive in maintaining good working relationships with partners, colleagues and community organisations providing health advice regarding the management and care of clients/service users. Evaluate care, taking appropriate action leading to an improvement in quality standards. You will work autonomously under the guidance of the specialist community public health nurse and support and train junior members of the team including students.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
