Salary: £55,620 – £61,421 per annum (Permanent)

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Public Transport Network Delivery Manager to lead the planning, procurement, and delivery of contracted bus services across a diverse and evolving network.

About the Role

As the Public Transport Network Delivery Manager, you’ll take the lead on ensuring high-quality, reliable, and efficient bus services are delivered through robust contract management and collaborative partnerships with operators. You’ll manage a team of six subject matter experts and play a key role in service planning, procurement, and performance monitoring.

This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll influence regional transport outcomes, contribute to funding bids, and work closely with senior stakeholders to shape future service delivery models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and ongoing management of contracted bus services
  • Oversee procurement processes and ensure contracts are performance-driven and compliant
  • Act as the subject matter expert for bus service delivery, advising on commercial and contracted networks
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with operators, stakeholders, and public sector partners
  • Monitor service performance and provide clear, data-driven reporting to senior leadership
  • Contribute to business cases and funding bids to support network expansion and innovation
  • Represent the organisation in discussions with regulatory bodies and the Traffic Commissioner

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in delivering bus services, ideally through contracted arrangements
  • Strong contract management and procurement expertise
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • A solid understanding of local/central government or combined authority environments
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to influence and drive change
