Contract Role - Python 3D visualization Engineer - England/Remote - 3 months initially - Inside IR35 PAYE

We are seeking a skilled Python 3D visualization Engineer. This role is focused on building a cutting-edge interactive user-facing demo that bridges science and AI through advanced Front End engineering and visualization technology. This role will integrate AI model output data to create interactive neural activity visualizations, showcasing how the brain activates from different media stimuli to engage public and research audiences. The role is expected to produce the user demo in collaboration with the research and design teams over a span of three months, with the possibility of extension for future projects within a similar domain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D visualization tools for the web using WebGL (and related technologies) to create interactive demos.
  • Integrate AI model output data to produce neural activity visualizations.
  • Collaborate with research and design teams to deliver a functioning demo within three months, with potential extension for future projects.
  • Apply frontend engineering and visualization techniques to bridge science and AI for public and research audiences.

Technical Requirements / Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Python, Python back end and APIs, and web frameworks.
  • Expertise in frontend web development with WebGL, React, GraphQL, Relay; familiarity with stylex, flow and similar tools.
  • Experience in backend web development with Python and related languages/tools (e.g., Hack, PHP) as applicable.
  • Experience with interactive data visualization, media usage functionality, browser performance optimization, constrained network functionality, and end-user considerations.
  • Ability to lead independently, work with scientific data, and collaborate closely with research and design teams.
