At Kier Construction, we deliver projects that shape the future of our communities. We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Newcastle, supporting the successful delivery of a new build school project that will provide vital learning spaces for generations to come.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring value, quality, and compliance at every stage. You'll work closely with our supply chain, clients, and internal teams to deliver excellence from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Manage subcontractor procurement and payments
  2. Provide timely, accurate information for CVR reporting
  3. Support change control and risk mitigation with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
  4. Carry out site measurements to assess subcontractor payment applications
  5. Collaborate with site and design teams to ensure all project variations are captured and costed
  6. Prepare information to enable applications for payment to the client
  7. Provide commercial advice to the project teams as required

What are we looking for?

  1. Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  2. Experience in main contracting, ideally on education or public sector projects
  3. Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  4. Full UK driving licence
  5. Located in North East of England, able to travel to office and site locations
