Job Description:
Operations Manager
Telent’s Network Services division is looking for an Operations Manager as part of its Infrastructure Services team. We seek an Operations Manager to cover the Northern region. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of the prestigious Fibre Build programme across Leeds and the wider Yorkshire area. A full UK driving license is required.
Expectations regarding location and travel include:
- Travel across Leeds and Yorkshire, attending meetings at Telent offices 1-2 days per month, with the flexibility to work from home.
The Operations Manager will collaborate with operational teams, including third-party resources and the customer, to ensure high operational delivery, meet SLA and KPI targets, and investigate any failures. The role involves identifying service improvement initiatives and working with stakeholders to implement cost-effective solutions, promoting best practices across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Create customer SLA performance reports where appropriate
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date service documentation following company procedures
- Understand field-based requirements for resource planning
- Manage a designated operations team, supporting project or service delivery
- Deliver projects and support contracts, developing delivery strategies
- Understand project/service requirements, including mobilization and onsite start-up
- Manage tools, test equipment, and materials used by field staff
- Conduct health & safety inspections on site
- Implement service improvement initiatives with internal and external teams
- Develop maintenance schedules and communicate delays impacting costs
- Manage chargeable incidents and demand planning
- Handle incident and service escalation
- Ensure SLA and KPI compliance, investigating failures in real time
- Flag QEHS risks and ensure safety measures
- Provide insights on resourcing and skills
- Support project financials, including invoicing and variations
- Liaise with clients to ensure standards and rectify issues
- Maintain understanding of contractual deliverables
Key Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- People management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Negotiation skills and client management
- Ability to deliver projects on time and manage priorities
- Focus on service delivery and customer experience
- Business acumen for operational and supply chain issues
- Results-oriented and team leadership
