Purpose
The Release Manager will coordinate planning, execution, enablement and communication activities across multiple teams to ensure smooth, predictable and high‑quality releases. The role reports to the Vice President, Product – Applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic capacity & roadmap planning – partner with Product, Engineering and Delivery to define and validate quarterly/annual capacity plans.
- Support prioritisation – align team capacity with product roadmaps and business objectives.
- Forecast delivery capabilities using historical data/velocity trends and highlight constraints.
- Scalable release planning – develop detailed release calendars, interdependency maps and milestone plans across products.
- Data‑driven delivery monitoring – design and maintain real‑time dashboards tracking progress, KPIs, defect leakage and deployment success.
- Stakeholder communication – facilitate cross‑team syncs, report timelines, risk status and release health via transparent reporting mechanisms.
- Release readiness and enablement – partner with Go‑to‑Market, Sales and Support to deliver enablement materials, training and FAQs ahead of release.
- Lead release readiness reviews, business go/no‑go assessments, and stakeholder sign‑off processes.
- Coordinate early‑access programs, beta testing and feedback loops to de‑risk launches.
- Conduct post‑release reviews and retrospectives for continuous improvement.
- Own and evolve release governance framework, templates and best practices.
- Collect feedback to optimise release cadence, tooling and process efficiency.
- Provide executive‑level reporting (C‑suite dashboards, release risk briefings).
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Release Manager or in PMO leadership for complex software releases.
- Deep knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Git, Aha and related release tools.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC/PDLC and experience with project‑management software.
- Excellent problem‑solving, risk‑management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with agile delivery practices and data‑driven decision‑making.
