Revenue Manager

The Goodenough Hotel , a 65-bedroom luxurious establishment in Bloomsbury occupies a historic row of five Georgian townhouses. Owned by Goodenough College, the hotel plays an essential financial role in supporting the Colleges charitable mission for postgraduate international students. The Hotel seeks an experienced Revenue Manager to optimise RevPAR, to achieve the highest possible surplus contributions to our charitable aims and manage short-stay and sabbatical accommodations. Flexible part-time options (3 days/week) are available for the right candidate, though expertise and experience in revenue management are essential as this will take priority in the role. Key Revenue responsibilities will include: Implement rate strategies across OTAs, the hotel website, and PMS to maximise revenue and profitability. Manage reservations and revenue for short-stay and sabbatical accommodations. Align revenue strategy with the Sales & Marketing plan to optimise financial results. Develop strategies to maximise segment delivery and revenue growth. Review occupancy levels, apply promotional rates where needed, and communicate them to relevant teams. Ensure accounting procedures are followed, and invoices and sales ledgers are managed promptly. Manage and audit hotel systems (Guestline, Starez, Duetto) and update third-party websites seasonally. Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for internal and Board audiences. Assist in creating the annual revenue budget and six-month reforecast. Suggest strategic changes to address market developments proactively. Key Reservations responsibilities will include: Oversee the daily operations of the Reservations Department, ensuring prompt and accurate handling of reservation requests. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish efficient processes for arrivals, reservations, VIPs, special requests, and more. Ensure the Reservations team adheres to procedures for providing correspondence and arrival details to the Front of House team for seamless check-in. Investigate, follow up, and charge all no-shows in compliance with the SOP. Respond to queries from the Housekeeping department regarding reservations and Rezlynx. Efficiently manage all group enquiries in a timely manner. Personally oversee VIP reservations as necessary and ensure the Reservations team handles VIP communications effectively where existing relationships are present. Work with the Operations Manager and General Manager to develop relationship management functions and processes within Rezlynx, aimed at encouraging repeat and return business while enhancing the customer experience. Provide line management, support, and motivation to the Reservations Agent in accordance with Hotel and College procedures, ensuring adequate training and development are delivered. Under the guidance of the Hotel General Manager, offer direction, training, and leadership to all staff responsible for reservations, ensuring team members fulfil their potential and departmental goals are met. Ensure all emails, correspondence, and other requests are handled professionally and cleared daily.
