Join to apply for the RF Engineer role at IC Resources. We’re partnering with a leading defence technology company seeking an RF Engineer to join their growing team in Stevenage. This hybrid position typically requires 3–4 days per week on‑site due to project sensitivity.

The RF Engineer will work on the research, design, and testing of advanced radio‑frequency systems for integration into complex electronic and weapon platforms. This hands‑on design role is suited to engineers who enjoy practical problem‑solving, prototyping, and validating high‑performance RF circuits across wide frequency ranges.

Applicants must hold British citizenship or dual UK nationality and will be required to meet UK security clearance requirements. The role offers a salary up to £65,000 plus bonus, generous pension contributions, and a range of flexible benefits, with relocation support available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and validate RF circuits and subsystems across 30 MHz – 30 GHz
  • Develop components such as LNAs, HPAs, filters, local oscillators, and modulators
  • Perform hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and prototype modifications in the lab
  • Conduct design proving trials using VNAs, spectrum analysers, and power meters
  • Ensure designs meet demanding EMC, vibration, and thermal standards
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the RF design function

Skills & Experience

  • Proven practical experience in RF circuit design and testing
  • Strong understanding of analogue, digital, and power supply design principles
  • Skilled in the use of test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analysers, power meters, etc)
  • Confident with soldering, fault‑finding, and rapid prototype development
  • Familiar with RF design tools such as Microwave Office or equivalent
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture and test processes
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to clearly present findings
