Job Title: Robotics Deployment Engineer

Location: EU - Must be flexible to travel frequently across EU

Contract Type: Freelance/Contract

We are seeking a Robotics Deployment Engineer to lead the deployment of advanced robotic arm systems and related automation equipment from planning through execution. This role requires strong technical expertise in robotics integration, system validation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-effective deployments. As a Deployment Engineer, you will work closely with internal teams, integrators, and vendors to design, configure, and commission robotic arm solutions that meet demanding operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end deployment of robotic arm systems, from planning through commissioning, ensuring adherence to scope, safety, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Deliver and validate technical solutions including robotic arm installation, configuration, calibration, and qualification (e.g., motion accuracy, safety checks, endurance testing).
  • Simplify and optimize deployment processes by identifying bottlenecks, applying root-cause analysis, and implementing structured problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrators, and suppliers to align technical requirements, drive decisions, and ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop and implement improvements to increase system reliability, reduce deployment risks, and enhance long-term maintainability of robotic arms and supporting automation.
  • Provide technical documentation, project updates, and clear communication to stakeholders across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers, contribute to building robotics deployment expertise, and share best practices within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant deployment, robotics integration, or systems engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with robotic arm systems (industrial or collaborative), including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with experience in root-cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale robotics or automation deployments (e.g., robotic arms, conveyors, end-effectors, or vision-guided systems).
  • Familiarity with programming robotic arms (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots, or similar).
  • Proven ability to implement scalable processes, safety standards, and deployment best practices across multiple projects.
  • Strong vendor and partner management experience, including contract oversight and equipment qualification.
  • Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory standards related to robotics and industrial automation.
