Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly driven, target-focused Sales Manager to take ownership of commercial operations across the UK and Ireland. This is a high-impact, field-based role suited to a hunter-style salesperson who thrives on new business generation, strategic account development, and long-term customer relationships in technical or regulated sectors.
The role covers a diverse portfolio of solutions and services used in clinical, research, or diagnostic applications. You'll also provide strategic oversight of service-based offerings and lead public sector tender activity across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Commercial Leadership
- Own and deliver the commercial strategy for the UK and Ireland across a portfolio of specialised products and technical services.
- Meet and exceed revenue targets through strategic planning, territory growth, and focused execution.
- Personally lead key account development while prospecting and closing new business – this is a hunter-focused sales role.
- Build a strong sales pipeline across both direct and indirect sales channels.
- Lead forecasting and opportunity management using CRM systems.
Service Oversight & Tender Management
- Provide strategic direction for the commercial performance of regional services (e.g., technical or laboratory-based).
- Manage one direct report with responsibility for service sales and tender submissions.
- Coordinate regional contributions to EMEA-wide public procurement and tenders.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Strengthen relationships with senior decision-makers, influencers, and customer stakeholders.
- Represent the company at national exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences.
- Stay informed on regional dynamics, customer trends, and competitor positioning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, marketing, customer success, and technical teams to align commercial delivery with customer needs.
- Ensure accurate CRM usage, reporting, and forecasting.
- Maintain full compliance with internal processes and external regulatory expectations.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
- 3–5 years of successful B2B sales experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or a related technical sector.
- Proven ability to consistently exceed targets and close complex sales opportunities.
- Experienced in direct and indirect sales channels, including key account management and distributor support.
- Confident navigating public procurement, tender frameworks, and contract negotiations.
- Technically credible – able to communicate confidently across a portfolio that includes both product and service components.
- CRM proficiency (e.g. Salesforce or similar) and experience managing forecasts and pipelines.
Preferred Experience
- Sales experience with NHS, private healthcare, labs, research institutions, or regulated commercial buyers.
- Exposure to multi-country tender-driven environments is advantageous.
- Experience managing or mentoring others is desirable.
Education
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a scientific or technical discipline preferred.
