Senior Analyst, Global Prospect Research
Full-time Remote – Candidates based in United States, U.K., Canada, Sweden, Norway, and Italy will be considered. Travel once per quarter.
Operation Smile seeks a Senior Analyst to identify, evaluate, and prioritize prospective global funders. The Analyst will collaborate with global fundraising teams, deliver high‑quality research, and support the development of a global prospect research infrastructure.
Essential Functions
- Conduct in‑depth prospect research on HNWIs, family offices, foundations, corporations, institutions, and government agencies.
- Deliver narrative‑style prospect profiles, data, and landscape analyses to support frontline fundraisers and leadership.
- Analyze public sources and proprietary databases (iWave, RelSci, Foundation Directory, etc.) to develop actionable insights.
- Map high‑potential fundraising markets, philanthropic ecosystems, and regional trends for prospecting priorities.
- Provide insights on global philanthropic trends, sector news, and donor behaviors.
- Serve as a strategic partner to fundraising teams in global markets and support blended giving opportunities.
- Support fundraising portfolio reviews, campaign strategy sessions, and opportunity prioritization with data‑driven insights.
- Operationalize and oversee centralized prospect‑tracking tools and research workflows; support AI‑driven tools and visualizations.
- Conduct reputational, ethical, and compliance research for risk assessments of potential funders.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, templates, and taxonomies for prospect research.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in prospect research, donor intelligence, or fundraising operations within a nonprofit or philanthropic setting.
- Extensive experience researching diverse funder types (HNWIs, foundations, corporations, institutional funders).
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data into concise, strategic insights, including reports, presentations, and visualizations.
- Experience with research tools such as iWave, Wealth‑X, Foundation Directory, LexisNexis, or RelSci.
- Excellent written communication, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders across global time zones.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience in a federated or international nonprofit organization.
- Understanding of international development, global health, and philanthropic funding trends.
- Familiarity with GDPR and ethical standards in prospect research.
- Multilingual skills or cultural fluency.

Compensation
Pay range: $63,200 – $79,800 (subject to experience and location).
