Job Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our hard-working and friendly Development & House Building Team based in Reading. We are looking for a Senior Associate Property Development Solicitor with 5+ year PQE to support the partners on transactional matters and manage their own caseload autonomously, with support available where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting option agreements, deeds, and contracts.
- Undertaking due diligence and providing detailed reporting.
- Managing a caseload of development transactions, including acquisitions and disposals of development land, plot sales, planning, and construction matters.
- Handling secured acquisition and development finance transactions.
- Contributing to processes and documents required for plot sales.
- Identifying concerns and risks, and providing practical and commercial solutions.
- Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and third parties involved in transactions.
- Gaining an understanding of the planning system and its impact on development transactions.
- Participating in business development activities and cultivating relationships within the development community.
Skills and Experience Required:
- A proven track record of working autonomously on complex transactions, with partner assistance available as required.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with clients and referrers in the development sector.
- Strong drafting skills, verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented with an ability to approach complex problems methodically.
- Practical and commercial thinking, with resourcefulness and a strong work ethic.
- A willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.
- Flexible working is available; however, regular attendance at our Reading office (at least twice a week) is expected.
