Senior Clinical Psychologist – Part‑time (30 h weekly) – Head of Clinical Governance, 2‑5 direct reports.

Base pay range

Dependant on experience, pro rata salary between £50,000 and £54,000 – (up to £68,000 FTE).

Role Objective

Lead and develop the Clinical Psychology practice within Kooth Digital Health, supporting the Head of Clinical Governance to manage a multidisciplinary team, drive clinical governance, and deliver safe, effective, and innovative digital mental health services.

Management & Leadership

  • Support day‑to‑day activity of the clinical governance team, prioritising workloads in line with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure clinical activity is user‑centred, improving the i-RESPOND operating model.
  • Develop Clinical Psychology across Kooth, measuring impact and growing the workforce.
  • Provide highly specialist psychological advice to colleagues and the wider organisation.
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery, Product, and senior leadership to balance innovation, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Lead where appropriate on organisational objectives using project management and a data‑driven approach.
  • Champion a ‘no‑blame’ culture and a psychologically safe environment for all employees.
  • Deputise for the Head of Clinical Governance when necessary.
  • Act as clinical lead for the integrated digital pathway, overseeing model development, stakeholder liaisons, staff support, and outcome oversight.

Analytics, Reporting and Insights

  • Support monthly reporting of clinical governance activity, collating feedback and data, interpreting trends, and identifying alternatives.

Clinical Governance

  • Embed the clinical governance framework within Service Delivery and lead embedding through direct activity.
  • Oversee the clinical audit process, ensuring regular review and updates.
  • Provide and receive clinical supervision, ensuring fit‑for‑purpose across the organisation.
  • Work closely with research to support activity, leading or supervising staff where appropriate.
  • Deliver a responsive clinical advisory service via the clinical request/safeguarding log and emails, accounting for complex factors.
  • Lead on implementation of specialist clinical models and therapeutic approaches within Service Delivery teams.
  • Highlight performance issues from clinical audit and advise Senior Practitioners/Managers on development and review.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as clinical expert and voice of Kooth for media requests, presentations, and commercial stakeholder meetings.
  • Work with marketing to ensure external messaging is clinically appropriate.
  • Contribute to complex internal and external communications across all levels.

Safeguarding

  • Support safeguarding processes, including the user safety incident framework.
  • Advise and support Service Delivery and other teams on best practice for safeguarding adults, children, and young people.
  • Offer out‑of‑hours support to staff on a rota system, enabling risk management for safeguarding best practice.
  • Co‑facilitate multidisciplinary discussions for complex presentations.

Training and Development

  • Support the development/improvement and delivery of specialist training packages, internally and externally.
  • Maintain professional standards of practice through participation in CPD programmes and internal/external training.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology (or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience in a clinical speciality.
  • Professional registration with HCPC.
  • Full (advanced) DBS certificate and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Demonstrable leadership/management experience in complex settings.
  • Experience of project management activity requiring complex critical thinking and data integration.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory systems and implications for practice in anonymous digital settings.
  • Well‑developed, effective communication skills, orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of the needs of psychological therapists at all grades and experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
