The cloud platform engineering team is new to Twinkl. This role provides an opportunity to lead the creation of a greenfield platform to allow product teams to deploy infrastructure and applications to AWS through CI/CD pipelines. You will evangelise AWS across the organisation, establish and maintain an AWS community, and share your expertise wherever needed.

As a senior engineer you will design and implement simple solutions to complex problems, mentor junior engineers, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Senior Cloud Platform Engineers who believe in the transformative power of education and technology.
• Problem solvers with a can-do attitude, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services, with a focus on serverless architecture. Experience deploying and operating production environments with IaC (preferably Terraform). Some software development experience is highly desirable.
• Desire to work with other teams to build an AWS community within Twinkl.
• Passion for delivering reliable platforms and finding simple solutions to complex problems.
• Mentors who enjoy helping junior engineers.
• Excitement and commitment to Twinkl’s values and the education technology sector.

Getting to Know Each Other

• Initial 30-minute chat with the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager to learn about the role.
• Take-home technical test you can complete in your own time.
• 90-minute interview to review your technical test, discuss answers, and cover competency questions. You’ll have time to ask questions about the role and Twinkl.
• Feedback will be provided after interviews, because constructive feedback is important.
