Overview Of The Role

What will you be doing?

  • Take ownership of complex, high-impact cloud support cases, providing expert 3rd-line support across Azure infrastructure and applications.
  • Act as a technical lead within the team – guiding, mentoring, and supporting junior analysts while helping to shape our technical direction.
  • Drive service improvements through automation, performance tuning, and proactive optimisation of our cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps to design and implement automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions that reduce manual workload.
  • Help define and refine cloud service processes and procedures to ensure consistent, scalable, and high-quality delivery.
  • Lead on major incident response and resolution, ensuring root‑cause analysis and follow‑up improvements are implemented.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our service offerings – bringing fresh ideas, new technologies, and smarter ways of working to the table.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to provide trusted technical advice and ensure our Azure solutions deliver real business value.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong background in a 3rd line or senior cloud support role, ideally within an MSP.
  • Extensive Azure experience – deploying, managing, and optimising IaaS and PaaS environments.
  • Good knowledge of Azure governance, security, networking, and cost control.
  • AZ‑104 certification required; AZ‑305, AZ‑700 or AZ‑400 a plus.
  • Confident with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python or similar).
  • Solid understanding of system architecture, identity, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Experience leading major incident resolution and root‑cause analysis.
  • Familiar with ITIL processes and ITSM tools.
  • Able to mentor junior colleagues and share technical best practice.
  • Excellent customer focus, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑driven and adaptable, comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.

Practical stuff

Where is the role based? This role can be remote with a monthly visit to our HQ in Pocklington (YO42).

Security Clearance – SC clearance is a requirement for this role; you do not need to have it already but must have the ability to gain it. (5+ years living in the UK, no criminal record).

How many interviews? Following a screen with the Recruitment Team you can expect a two‑stage interview process.
