Overview

Senior Commercial Counsel DACH role at Atlassian. This position supports the commercial business in DACH with flexibility to support in other EMEA regions, working with the sales team, internal business partners, and other Legal team members to draft and negotiate a variety of agreements with Atlassian's enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Be an active part of our Commercial Legal Team, supporting Atlassian's enterprise sales business.
• Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian's products and services, including master services agreements.
• Partner with privacy, risk and compliance, security, finance, accounting, product and sales teams to facilitate contract reviews and internal process improvements, and develop/enhance customer-facing forms.
• Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues.
• Keep up-to-date on relevant legislation in DACH and at the EU level.
• Develop support materials and provide trainings to educate direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues.
• Build trusted relationships with sales colleagues in the region and proactively suggest solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Advise business and corporate functions in the region in close collaboration with specialist teams in the U.S. and EMEA.
• Contribute to projects improving contract processes and sales enablement.

On your first day, we’ll expect you to

• Have passed your Second State Examination with 5+ years PQE (experienced deal lawyer).
• Be enthusiastic to work in an international environment, learn, and take on new responsibilities.
• Have experience handling B2B contract negotiations and possess commercial acumen.
• Communicate fluently in German and in English; other languages are a plus.
• Have an understanding of related topics like data privacy.
• Be curious about Atlassian’s products, culture, and business model.
• Be curious about using AI in daily work and about legal aspects of AI.

We appreciate as a plus

• Experience in the SaaS space and tech.
• Experience with public sector customers and/or financial institutions.
• Additional legal qualifications in other EMEA jurisdictions.
