My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join their regional team on a 6-month contract, supporting the delivery of consistent and high-quality commercial services across a portfolio of highways schemes.

This role is pivotal in driving commercial performance, managing contracts, and supporting strategic decision-making within the Operations Directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and contract management across multiple schemes, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and timely resolution of contractual matters.
  • Provide expert commercial support to regional operations, including budget forecasting, cost analysis, and performance improvement.
  • Represent the commercial function at regional leadership meetings and deputise for the Head of Commercial Delivery when required.
  • Support procurement activities, contract reviews, and tender assessments.
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing across all commercial activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior supply chain partners.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management within highways or infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and public sector procurement.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to deliver value-for-money outcomes and manage complex commercial issues.
