Location: Hybrid and flexible working, with our offices based in Berkshire between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury with onsite parking and public transport services.

Salary: Starting at £48,030 up to £60,000 – this is very much open to upwards negotiation if you have the skills and experience that we need.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Cost Engineer, work on a critical construction programme with responsibility for all aspects of Cost.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain timely, accurate cost data and reports, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, cash flows, and monthly reports on the Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP).
  • Collaborate with many partners; build strong relationships; maintain stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Implement appropriate procedures, processes and systems.
  • Task managing capacity and deployment of Project Controls team members in support of the projects.
  • Prepare, monitor and control forecasts and budgets for specified projects, including change control.
  • Interrogate systems and performance to ascertain actual expenditure and project accruals.
  • Assess supplier Applications for Payment.
  • Prepare cost reports, including trend analysis and early warnings where necessary.
  • Conduct CPI variance analysis and root cause analysis with narrative, recommendations & recovery planning.
  • Establish the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and head the preparation of cost studies using historical data.
  • Develop benchmarking information to meet specific needs.
  • Provide trended data to the Project Manager based on performance to date and emerging trends, with recommendations.
  • Track workforce productivity and analyse time booked to projects, including resource usage vs. planned and constraints.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
  • Success in a Project Controls environment or similar Cost role on a major construction project.
  • Adept with controls/general software applications such as Oracle, Power BI, Excel.
  • Building rapport and creating great relationships.
  • Motivating and building teams.

We Do Need You To Have The Following

  • We would like you to demonstrate or have experience of: professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status; success in a Project Controls environment or similar Cost role on a major construction project; adept with controls/software such as Oracle, Power BI, Excel; building rapport and motivating teams.

  • Interviews will be 90 minutes on Teams and include a 10 minute presentation.

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The role requires British Citizenship with UK residency history (5 years for SC clearance, 10 years for DV).
