Senior Data Analyst, Strategic Finance (Commercial Insights)
We’re hiring a Senior Data Analyst, Strategic Finance (Commercial Insights). This high-impact role focuses on surfacing and scaling insights that power Cleo’s financial strategy and external market communications. You’ll pull together product, user, and financial data to show how initiatives drive growth and impact, and deliver analysis that strengthens internal decision-making and external reporting.
Embedded within Strategic Finance, you’ll work closely with the CEO Office, Capital Markets, and Product leaders to translate complex business dynamics into metrics and stories that resonate. From shaping quarterly investor updates to building scalable systems that track performance against strategy, you’ll ensure Cleo communicates with precision, transparency, and authority. This is the first role dedicated to owning this insight layer within Strategic Finance.
If you’re energized by uncovering patterns in data, making connections across the business, and shaping how a leading consumer fintech demonstrates its impact, this is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Investor-Ready Insights: Transform product, user, and financial data into clear, defensible analyses for board decks, trading updates, and investor communications.
- Performance Storytelling: Highlight the real impact of new features, improvements, and user behaviours, connecting product progress directly to financial outcomes.
- Insight Infrastructure: Build dashboards, semantic layers, and automated reporting pipelines to bring consistency, clarity, and trust to performance tracking.
- Contextual Impact Analysis: Explain how key behaviours influence broader performance and growth by integrating product, user, and financial data.
- External Reporting & Communications: Create investor-ready outputs—from annual financial reports to quarterly trading updates—with precision, consistency, and visual clarity.
- Market Benchmarking: Monitor peers to position Cleo’s progress in context and surface insights to sharpen strategy.
- Data Governance: Define and document data definitions and reporting to ensure a single source of truth for investors and leaders.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in data analytics, BI engineering, analytics engineering, or hybrid data/finance roles, ideally in a high-growth, product-led company.
- Expert-level SQL.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Looker, Mode, Tableau) and data workflow tools (dbt, Airflow).
- Solid grasp of financial and operational metrics, with experience collaborating with FP&A or Strategic Finance teams.
- Bias for action and ownership—able to build from scratch, own end-to-end, and deliver value quickly.
- Strong communication skills to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Interest in fintech and Cleo’s mission to simplify money and make it more human.
Nice To Have
- Experience automating or supporting investor-facing reporting or board materials.
- Experience in environments blending consumer tech and financial services (e.g., AI, lending, credit, payments).
What You'll Get For Your Hard Work
- This is a level 3 position within Cleo’s Product Analytics framework.
- Competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi-annual reviews aligned to quarterly OKR planning.
- Opportunity to work at a fast-growing, well-funded tech startup.
- Clear progression plan with support for growth, leadership, and impact.
- Flexible work arrangements and a globally distributed team. If you’re in London, a hybrid approach with occasional in-office days; otherwise, a few days per year in person with travel covered.
