Senior Data Science Manager (Remote - EU/UK)

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Science Manager to lead and grow a high‑performing data function that drives product, business, and scientific impact. In this role, you will combine technical depth with strong people leadership, guiding embedded data scientists and analysts to deliver actionable insights, robust predictive models, and AI‑driven features. You will set standards for experimentation, reproducibility, and data quality while partnering closely with product, engineering, and science teams to shape strategy and execution. This role offers the opportunity to influence decision‑making at scale, mentor senior talent, and build a data‑driven culture in a remote‑first, collaborative environment across multiple time zones.

Accountabilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of data scientists and analysts embedded within product squads, fostering technical excellence and high‑impact outcomes
  • Set direction and standards for data‑driven product roadmaps, AI product evaluation, experimentation, and scientific features
  • Oversee predictive modeling, user behavior analysis, churn and retention modeling, and lifecycle propensity models
  • Establish robust experimentation practices, including A/B testing, causal inference, guardrails, and feature evaluation
  • Ensure reproducibility, model governance, and quality across ML/AI pipelines, including documentation, versioning, and run‑books
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and science teams to influence strategy, priorities, and roadmap decisions
  • Promote a culture of psychological safety, autonomy, and accountability while mentoring senior staff and supporting professional growth

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in data science or ML, including at least 2 years managing data scientists or analytics teams
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams while balancing hands‑on contribution with strategic leadership
  • Strong expertise in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, and predictive modeling
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data science tools; experience with ML pipelines, feature stores, and online experimentation is desirable
  • Experience in building and evaluating AI/ML‑driven product features, ensuring reproducibility and model integrity
  • Track record of influencing product decisions with data‑driven insights across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data tools such as GCP/Vertex AI, BigQuery, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical ideas to varied audiences
  • Passion for fostering a diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture
  • Experience in health, nutrition, or regulated domains is a plus. Ph.D. or equivalent experience is advantageous
