Overview


We are working with a leading medical technology business in their search for a Senior Design Engineer to join their Device Development team. This is a full-time opportunity to be directly involved in the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices that make a real difference to patients worldwide.



Responsibilities



  • Producing high-quality CAD designs for injection moulded components and mechanisms

  • Creating advanced surface models and design concepts using Creo

  • Conducting tolerance analysis (TAN) and risk analysis (FMEA) for designs

  • Supporting laboratory testing of prototypes and documenting results

  • Writing and reviewing design specifications, protocols, and reports

  • Collaborating with suppliers, engineers, and project managers to ensure design-for-manufacture

  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and relevant industry standards

  • Supporting continuous improvement and mentoring junior team members where appropriate



About you



  • Mechanical design/engineering background with extensive Creo experience (including surfacing)

  • Strong background in injection moulded component design for high-volume manufacture

  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and lab-based validation activities

  • Skilled in producing documentation to support regulatory compliance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to develop solutions from first principles

  • Previous medical device experience is highly desirable but not essential
