Description

Are you an experienced and highly skilled designer, motivated to make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children? Do you want to work for one of the most-loved brands in the UK? Then this could be the role for you.

As our in-house Senior Designer, you will line-manage two Junior Designers and create inspiring work across digital and print. You’ll lead creative on a wide variety of projects to support fundraising, engagement and brand activity for the charity and hospital.

The salary for this position is £37,585 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. This position is a 12 month fixed term contract.

In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality, integrated creative work using a wide range of design and design thinking skills, including but not limited to; publications, print and digital marketing, concepting, illustration, animation, storyboarding, brand development, UI design, and large-scale display materials.
  • Leading on allocated projects where creative can significantly influence revenue generation and brand profile.
  • Interpreting creative briefs to best deliver project objectives using data and insight.
  • Assisting the Senior Design Manager to schedule and manage creative and brand projects.
  • Consistently champion the brand while ensuring that creative work is aligned to the charity’s strategy and brand objectives.
  • Collaborating and consulting with external agencies to ensure that creative projects meet brand objectives.
  • Managing two Junior Designers with an emphasis on coaching and developing skills and creativity.
  • Organising and art directing photography of hospital staff, patients and families, requiring sensitivity and compliance with hospital and charity regulations.
  • Helping to manage the charity/hospital image library and ensuring that any images used have the correct permissions and are used appropriately.
  • Liaising with external suppliers including printers and photographers, as well as managing and overseeing freelance designers, acting as a guardian of the brand and overseeing completed work.
  • Delivering print ready artwork and checking proofs.
  • Helping to ensure agreed workflow processes are maintained within the team.
  • Depising for the Senior Design Manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Significant experience of creative design in the charity sector.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative suite, including After Effects.
  • Ability to generate compelling creative work within brand guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in brand art-direction.
  • A passion for making a difference to the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.
