Senior Dev Ops Engineer, 12 month contract Inside IR35

Hybrid Work 3 days a week onsite in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

Active SC clearance

Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation, and administration of F5 appliances in AWS.
  • Converge multiple solutions of network patterns and create a self service, single pattern for the service.
  • Configure and manage network security appliances, particularly Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls in enterprise environments.
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and per-formance.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC/CaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems, networks, and application performance across hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams to enforce DevSecOps best practic-es.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
  • Maintain and document configurations, processes, and network topologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience with F5 load balancers expertise.
  • Strong experience with firewall platforms: Palo Alto Networks and CheckPoint.
  • Strong experience in Zscalar is preferrable
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, routing, etc.).
  • Proficient with AWS services including EC2, ELB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, S3,VPC Lattice, Transit Gateway, VPN and more.
  • Practical knowledge of DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or equivalent).
  • Experience in managing production systems, preferably in regulated or high-availability environ-ments.
  • Experience in mentoring junior members of the team
