Salary: Inside IR35 – rate disclosed once contacted
Location: The role is based at one of the client's offices in Warrington, Abingdon, or Cumbria.
Hours of work: Up to 37 hours per week
Travel: Must be willing to travel to client sites as required.
Role Overview
The Senior EC&I Design Engineer will support the Principal Engineer in delivering complex engineering projects and may take ownership of smaller work packages with assistance from the wider team. The role covers the full lifecycle of EC&I design, from early concept development through detailed design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or support the delivery of EC&I design work across all project stages.
Produce high-quality design documentation, drawings, and calculations in line with project standards and regulatory requirements.
Plan, coordinate, and manage design activities to ensure deadlines and quality expectations are met.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering principles, safety requirements, and site regulations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control, or a related engineering discipline.
At least 5 years of professional engineering or technical experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders.
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
Strong organisational skills, including managing your own workload and supporting others to meet project milestones.
Experience working on nuclear or other highly regulated industrial sites.
Desirable Skills
Experience working with other engineering disciplines on integrated design projects.
Knowledge of AMTECH ProDesign or similar electrical calculation software.
Competency in AutoCAD.
Understanding of BIM-enabled project environments.
Additional Requirements
Eligibility to work in the UK at the commencement of employment.
Willingness to undergo and obtain Security Clearance (SC).
