We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: Up to £50,000 dependent on skills and experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Support to engineers at supplier sites and regular, direct engagement with Type 26 global combat ship counterparts to obtain and share best practiceSupport to PM&C engineers in Australia in resolving queries with UK counterparts and the supplier, and representation of PM&C team in technical workshops with both BAE and Supplier representativesLeading UK functional integration activities and engaging with system owners to enable delivery of PMS softwareWorking with stakeholders across the platform to understand the technical impact of incoming changes and ensuring alignment in data packs shared with the supplierSupporting the development and maturation of data pack supporting technical documentation including signal schedules, functional specifications, interface control documents and control philosophiesYour skills and experiences:Knowledge of distributed control systemsWorking experience in complex programs and multi-disciplinary teamsExperience in more than one phase of Life Cycle Management, with sufficient experience of the total LCM to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issuesKnowledge of T26 PMS system: PMS signal schedule, PMS functional specifications and interface control documentsSome knowledge of other Platform Systems (e.g. Auxiliaries, HVAC, Electrical, Power and Propulsion) and Combat Systems would be beneficialPrior use of HCF project toolsets (e.g. DOORS, System Architect, Windchill, JIRA, Visio)Knowledge of previous Naval Ships and/or Australian platforms and their approaches to distributed control systemsAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.HCF Platform Monitoring and Control (PM&C) UK Team:Successful delivery of the Platform Management System (PMS) is one of the key activities on the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) program critical path which needs to be achieved in order to deliver the ship on schedule for the customer. This role is vital to ensuring that the delivery team and the suppliers deliver a product that, once fully integrated, incorporates all required changes to the platform. The role is crucial in managing the design dependency with the Type 26 Reference Ship Design and ensuring effective embodiment of HCF change into the HCF design by the supplierWhy BAE Systems?This is a place where you’ll be able to make a real difference.
