We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to lead impactful projects and support environmental insurance claims and consultancy services across the UK. If you are passionate about protecting the environment and solving complex problems, we want to hear from you!
Location: Leeds/Sheffield - Hybrid
Role Overview:
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will deliver technically sound, commercially aware consultancy services related to contaminated land. You will manage environmental projects from investigation through remediation to closure, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This is a home-based role with site visits and office meetings, mentored by senior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental insurance claim projects, ensuring technical and financial performance.
- Conduct site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation verification.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, regulators, and homeowners.
- Develop Conceptual Site Models and deliver PRA and GQRA reports.
- Prepare and review technical documentation.
- Interpret monitoring data for soil, groundwater, and gas.
- Support environmental remediation strategies.
- Assist in business development and maintain client relationships.
- Produce high-quality technical reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Earth Sciences, Geo-Environmental or related field (MSc preferred).
- At least 5 years' experience in contaminated land investigation and remediation.
- Knowledge of CLR11, BS10175, BS5930, and relevant legislation.
- Experience with hydrocarbon contamination.
- Skills in soil and rock logging, CSM development.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; GIS experience beneficial.
