Senior Estimator

Estimator – Infrastructure, Transport & Energy

This permanent role is based in Birmingham, Bristol or Cardiff, with hybrid working options.

Responsibilities

  • Support estimating service delivery, producing estimates from feasibility through to detailed design across diverse projects and sectors.
  • Generate estimates ranging from Class 5 (order of magnitude) to Class 1 (bottom‑up, first principles).
  • Collaborate with the team to support new business acquisition, mentor junior colleagues, and peer‑review outputs.
  • Use client benchmarking data, in‑house data, and market data to independently form and assess estimates, employing appropriate estimating software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction or a related field.
  • Experience estimating in the infrastructure, transport or energy sectors.
  • Chartership with or demonstrably working towards RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or a similar professional body.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and contractual requirements, including cost forecasting, indirect costs, cost breakdown structures and cost analysis.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills – working effectively with designers, engineers, project managers and clients.
  • Consultancy mindset – adaptable across multiple sectors and disciplines.

Due to the nature of work at our client’s site, this position is only open to candidates who hold or can obtain an SC clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available.
