About the Role
As a Senior Fire Engineer, you will become an integral part of the NGET Asset Lifecycle department. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing fire safety measures and developing robust fire management systems. Job Title: Senior Fire Engineer
Pay Rate: £500 - £550 per day (Umbrella)
Duration: 3 - 6 months (Temporary)
Working Pattern: Remote working – Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a Fire Management System that aligns with industry standards.
- Establish site fire strategies for both new and existing high‑voltage substations.
- Advise senior management on fire safety best practices and compliance.
- Assist in recruitment efforts for permanent fire engineering resources, ensuring we attract top talent.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong experience in Fire Engineering and Safety Engineering.
- A deep understanding of Fire Management Systems and site fire strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively advise management.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively while also being an initiative‑taker.
- A passion for fire safety and a commitment to excellence.
Working Conditions
- This role is primarily remote/home‑based, but occasional travel to sites or offices (once or twice a week) will be required.
- You will be provided with a National Grid issued laptop and IT account to facilitate your work.
