Senior Front-End / Founding Engineer — Location: London - Hybrid working

Responsibilities

• Lead the front-end architecture and implementation of complex, high-performance UIs
• Work across the full stack if needed — owning features end-to-end
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and founders to turn ambiguous requirements into shipped systems
• Tackle system design challenges like: “How would you architect WhatsApp?”
• Make key decisions on frameworks, component libraries, state management, real-time communication layers, and performance tuning
• Contribute to a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous technical improvement

What We’re Looking For

• Deep expertise in ReactJS and modern state management tools like Zustand, Redux, etc., with an understanding of how to optimise performance and avoid unnecessary re-renders — you’ll be working on real-time interfaces that handle 1,000+ socket events per minute
• Strong architectural instincts – capable of designing modular, scalable front-end systems that are easy to maintain and extend
• Comfortable working with ambiguity – you enjoy turning loosely defined problems into clear solutions and thrive in fast-moving environments
• A solid grasp of system design concepts – able to reason through API design, client-server interactions, caching, and WebSocket-based workflows
• Excellent communicator – confident explaining trade-offs, collaborating cross-functionally, and contributing to team-wide engineering standards
• Bonus points for familiarity with Web3 ecosystems, Node.js, GraphQL, Kafka, real-time messaging, or lower-level languages like C++ or Rust
