Senior Geotechnical Engineer
24 Days Old
Binnies' geotechnical team continues to grow due to ongoing successes in tendering. As we enter the next water regulatory period (AMP8), we will provide geotechnical input for most UK water companies, focusing on storm spill reduction and supporting the development of new reservoirs to safeguard future water supplies.
Our frameworks also include support for the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Canals and River Trust.
As part of this growth, we are offering advanced geotechnical services and taking on more complex designs, including temporary works. This presents exciting opportunities for staff to learn new skills and be involved in the expansion of our services. Many schemes are design and build, allowing us to see our designs come to life and be constructed.
These Senior Engineer roles will support junior colleagues and involve a mix of originating and checking designs.
About the Role:
- Checking the work of junior staff
- Designing a diverse range of geotechnical solutions
- Design and supervision of ground investigations
- Interpreting ground investigation results
- Preparing sections and geological drawings
- Conducting site visits
You should possess and demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and knowledge:
- A Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
- Chartered status (ideally with ICE or IoM3)
- A full UK driving license (due to site visits)
You should also have:
- The ability to work remotely
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with stakeholders and contractors
- A proactive, methodical problem-solving approach
- Success in designing, planning, and organizing tasks
- A passion for engineering
